Birdwatching/bird photography/ Bird counts

Many people enjoy watching the wonderful birdlife we have here. Forbes has an incredible array of native birds from tiny little Yellow-rumped Thornbills, Superb Fairywrens, and Flame Robins through a range of vulnerable birds such as the Grey-Crowned Babbler, Superb Parrot, and Freckled Duck to the wonderful raptors such as the Peregrine Falcon, Nankeen Kestrel, White-bellied Sea Eagle and Wedge-tailed Eagle. Let's celebrate the diversity of birdlife in and around our town. With new bird hides on the way, we will be in a prime position to create a bird festival for our town.

I would love to see the Jazz back. We just love it.

Gold Rush/ Heritage Festival

I'd love to see Forbes hold a annual colonial style festival. Including Gold Rush, Bushrangers, explorers. A celebration of our history like we used to have at the old vintage village. Something that celebrates our local history and Australian lifestyle. There is nothing like it that I know of and would be a great event to attract tourists. Held over a weekend with old style camping grounds, damper and scone baking compositions, vintage dress, old tool displays, old fashioned hand made wares and markets, horse and carriage displays or races, panning for gold, wood chopping and of course food and music. It could be help at the vintage village site. There really is a world of opportunities and I believe a market for history buffs.

What about Grazing Down The Lachlan

This is an extremely successful event and I wonder could it become the centrepiece of something bigger! Not only Grazing, but amazing as well!
