Forbes Shire Council is currently preparing a funding application under the Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program for the replacement of Gunning Gap Bridge on Yarrabandai Road, located approximately 1km east of Corridgery Road over Goobang Creek.

The existing bridge is subject to a 42.5-tonne load limit, which has been in place for the past 12 months following a structural assessment. This restriction prevents access for fully loaded General Mass Limit (GML) B-doubles and other Restricted Access Vehicles (RAVs), creating a significant constraint on an otherwise approved freight route.

Yarrabandai Road is a key transport corridor for the region, supporting the movement of agricultural commodities including grain, livestock, and essential farming inputs.

This survey has been created to support our application for funding.
